This collection is an ode to the Goddess of fresh waters and nurturing: Tethys.

150 million years ago, the Tethys ocean split the single huge supercontinent of Pangaea into two supercontinents, Laurasia an Gondwana, which set the premises of the planet Earth as we know it today. A whole and very rich ecosystem was living underneath the Tethys Ocean, which was home to three thousand oceanids and three thousand rivers.

Nowadays, one of the few testimonies of the life that used to reign in that ocean can be witnessed on a land that is 1.5 million years old: Artsakh. On this land, there is a magical hill where you can find star-shaped fossils coming out of the ground. This hill is called “Astghashen” (‘Land of the Stars’).

The TETHYS collection tells the ultimate story of this vast and rich world that used to be the face of the earth before our times and that is captured today in the rough yet extraordinary ‘stars’ of Astghashen.
